Justin and the Drum

An adventure story for children of seven to twelve

Price £5.99

Available from The Inner Bookshop, Oxford.

Justin is determined not to enjoy himself at the international dance camp in Scotland. But when the children's programme involves making a drum for a percussion band he starts to be interested..

Before long he has made friends with some of the other children: Giovanna from Italy, Nayana from India and Bernard, of African descent.

When the children view the strange Pictish stones on the moors they find that a boy carved on one of them is Justin's double. Justin identifies with this boy and his exciting life of long ago.

The story reaches its powerful climax on the hillside, where a heathland fire is raging.
